Curious about Chlorine Injection?

If your water contains bacteria, it will have to be treated prior to use for drinking, cooking, or cleaning. Common types of bacteria found in city water are coliform and E.coli. Well water carries higher risks, including coliform, E.coli, iron, and sulphur bacterias.

Untreated Iron Bacteria

A chlorine injection system consists of a chemical feed pump which meters out a specified concentration of diluted chlorine into the incoming water system. The chlorinated water is held in a retention tank which allows for the chlorine to have enough "contact time" to take effect. The water is then put through a carbon filter in order to remove the chlorine from the treated water.

Chlorine injection is often the cheapest and most effective way to disinfect water. It is an extremely popular option for our rural clients whose homes are connected to a well.

Chlorine injection systems are often paired with water softeners or reverse osmosis systems in the home to optimize the home's water quality.
